Homeschooling?
Well, I am sure there are as many reasons for homeschooling as there are homeschoolers. We have chosen to homeschool to provide our children the best education possible and to promote a stronger family unit and increase our Faith.
Our goal is to provide them with a top-notch education, while still allowing them the opportunity to be children. Imagination, creativity and play will be just as important as reading and math in our school. We will be very focused on classic, timeless literature (known as ‘Living Books’) with plenty of art and music to compliment the more academic subjects of math, English, science and social studies.
We are going to use the Charlotte Mason approach to leaning, with a dash of Waldorf and eclectic/unschooling/random methods thrown in for good measure, to provide the most versatile education possible; but one that allows the children to pursue areas of personal interest and help them maintain a love and excitement for learning.
