McD Chicken

Anyone who has seen “Super Size Me” and felt like vomiting at the thought of a Big Mac – be warned!  Apparently, even the healthier grilled chicken option is bad for your health!  Oh no!  What will health conscious fast food fans do now?

According to a ridiculous California laws suit (I realize “ridiculous” and “California law suit” are synonymous), eating grilled chicken on sandwiches – and even salads – will potentially give you cancer. So, just to be clear, the Big Mac will give you a heart attack and the grilled chicken, cancer.  Hmm…

Has it occurred to anyone else that human cells just tend to go cancer crazy from time to time?  I get that smoking is bad, bad, bad.  I also get that there are other things that are definitely toxic for the human body and cause cancer.  I don’t think that a chemical (?) that occurs when cooking chicken is something we need to be terribly worried about.  In fact, I would venture a guess that after thousands of years of evolution (and grilling our meat) that humans probably don’t really see much affect from PhIP.  Now, rats don’t often eat grilled chicken, so if they are getting cancer from PhIP, it might be because they haven’t had the time to evolve.  Just a thought.

As for me and my house, we will grill the bird.

It seems to me that EVERYTHING has the potential to cause cancer these days… what you gonna do? Eat your chicken raw?
