Biracial Hair Care Resources
I also get a lot of hits to my blog from people looking for biracial hair care tips. I decided to make a page with my favorite resources which I will be adding to as time goes on.
My favorite site is Tightly Curly. Spend some time here looking over the pictures, the instructions, and learning about products. Teri has a GREAT site here with all kinds of fantastic information. My little Sydni loves to have her hair doodled and she feels very proud of it.
For video tutorials, please do yourself a favor and visit Katelynylyn. She has amazing instructional videos of several techniques and styles. She taught me to cornrow through a youtube video…enough said!
For more products and tips, try Mixed Chicks. They offer products, tips, a salon locator and more!
Similar to Mixed Chicks is Blended Beauty with more products and tips.
Here is a little advice from me: with babies & toddlers, use olive oil. It’s lightweight, natural, and it’s all they really need to keep their hair soft and manageable. But this also depends on hair texture. Use good judgment and if it seems too heavy, try a leave in conditioner. Play around with different types of hair clips and bands and different styles. Practice, practice, practice. You do NOT need to bathe your kids and soak their hair just to comb through it. A spray bottle of water with conditioner should be fine. Good luck!
